Australia is getting ready to open its doors to international students!!!!
Australia is planning to start off a pilot program this month in order to allow international students to enter the country under special circumstances.
The Prime Minister announced about 3 weeks ago that International students would be the first international travellers to be allowed in the country. However, the plan is meant to be developed in a very controlled manner and only for certain selected institutions on pre-approved basis between government authorities and states/territories. Also, Scott Morrison advised that the gradual reopening would have to be done with appropriate quarantine entry arrangements and biosecurity and all those matters being addressed.
In March 2020 Australia shut its borders to international travellers due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, leaving many international students stranded abroad and wondering when they would be allowed back in. Australian borders have remained closed since then, following strict safety measures which have resulted in the country being one of the best managing the pandemic globally.
This is really good news for international students wanting to experience the great education system in Australia and, although is not the end of the current COVID-19 situation yet, it is a good indicator of the Australian government’s will to encourage students to continue their dream of getting qualified in Australia and enjoying the country’s unbeatable lifestyle.
