NSW possible first destination of choice for international students over US and UK after COVID-19

Tim Reardon (NSW Department of premier and cabinet secretary) has stated a couple of weeks ago that NSW could become the most popular study destination for international students globally, overtaking the two superpowers UK and US which have always been in the first two positions.

This is basically due to NSW success in controlling the spread of COVID-19 comparing to the rest of the world. Australia has also advised that is willing to reopen the borders for international students under a pilot program where the students will be accepted into the country under strict measures such as the 14 days quarantine which already applies for international travellers returning to Australia.

Australia has always been in the top 5 international study destinations. Recently it has been attracting many more students due to its great quality of education but also to its lifestyle, being two Australian cities ranked in the top 10 most liveable cities globally. Direct proof of this is the fact that Australia has gradually increased the number of international students year by year, with more and more people choosing Australia over US, Canada or UK.

We are not sure when the borders will completely open, or when the COVID-19 will be controlled, but we can assure that Australia will still be standing as one of the best destinations for international students, if not the best.
